Veterinary Assistant
Makayla was born and raised in Indianapolis Indiana. She was accepted into nursing school in 2019 and was a year away from graduating when she realized her true passion was helping animals. She has volunteered with various rescues and exotic animal vets including a sanctuary in Michigan that specialized in birds and reptiles.
Makayla has 4 dogs: Django a Pit/ Mountain Cur mix, Dutch a Blue Heeler, Roux a boxer, and Bella a Chihuahua as well as a turtle named Dale and 5 fish. In the past she has had numerous other pets, including rabbits, guinea pigs, snakes, and a cat. She enjoys being outside, fishing, hiking and kayaking and in 2021 bought acreage to start a farm and sanctuary of her own.
